Op-Shop Finds - Woollen Jumpers

January 20, 2014

Delicious angora, cashmere, lambswool and merino.

I am so inspired by the fabrics I find, I'm not sure if I could explain it.  My eyes see past the odd imperfections, the occasional stain, hole or tear.  They are just what I am looking for.  The touch and feel of them, the colours and what they represent to me, the differing textures all telling me what their finished design will be.

Slowly over the next few months, they will be lovingly transformed by my hands into classic garments for children of all ages; babies, toddlers children and teens.  I shouldn't forgot ladies too - I have had so many requests for ladies sized pixie hats I have now added them as a permanent item in my shop.

Soft-as-soft-can-be pink cashmere, snugly keeping a little newborn's head warm - embroidered with delicate jasmine flowers.  Bold blues embellished with woodland toadstools for the adventure loving little boy...

I can't wait to get started on this range of little pixie hats, vests and baby shoes.  One by one they will find their new homes, and start their new journey.  I'm so happy to have my hands working on such beautiful natural materials each day.

xx
