Our weekend was spent with family and friends and I also found a little free time to put the finishing touches on this winter cape.
As you saw a sneek peek at the fabrics here, I thought you might like to see what they evolved into. I'm loving the yellow - my hopes for it to look happy and warm for winter turned out well :)
The button I used to fasten wasn't the original button I had chosen (one I made from our orange tree) but rather one made more recently from a fallen Pohutukawa branch. The colour is an incredibly rich reddish brown and looks lovely with the yellow I think.
While catching up with long time family friends on Sunday, I managed to get a little person to model the cape for me so I could share it with you, before it wings off to its new owner. Yay!
Such a gorgeous shade of yellow. I find that yellow can often be very harsh and suck the colour out of children, but this beautiful cape just exudes warmth and snuggliness!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful little cape, and in such a pretty colour. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI just died and went to heaven a little bit. I've just gotta convince my girls that a cape is the go and I'll be knocking on your shop door. Absolutely adore this cape. x
ReplyDeleteHi there,
ReplyDeleteMy daughter Stella was given this cape last night for her 1st birthday by Aunties Kat & Jess. It is GORGEOUS! I love it and will send you a photo of her wearing it.
