Special Cape

February 20, 2013

This morning I started on a very special garment for a little girl.  Would you like to hear a little about it?

It will be fashioned from lovely soft pink wool which once was a baby blanket belonging to her grandmother.   Such a sweet idea that her special memories can be wrapped around her grand daughter, keeping her snug and warm.

Lace flowers and butterflies from her grandmother's and mummy's wedding dresses will be used along with some beautiful vintage wooden buttons and lining carefully selected by her mummy.  Last but not least, some original embroidery by me in these muted wildflower meadow colours.

Will share some progress pics as I go along.  I must admit was a touch nervous about cutting into the blanket.  So precious and only just big enough leaving no room for error.

I surely did take a big breath first...
