Wooden finds
February 19, 2013
These lovely wooden things were found at our local op shop last week. We gave them a good scrub with soapy water, lay them out to dry in the sun, then loved them up with some beeswax.
I fell in love with this little truck the moment I saw it. To be honest my heart skipped a beat, and I was really hoping it wouldn't be too pricey. Luckily for us, both items were really inexpensive. Yay!
"Twuck" passes the play test with our little girl, however, the bowl/box is her favourite. It sits in pride of place on her "special shelf" and is currently housing a collection of her felted wool balls, although the contents could change at a moment's notice :)

Great finds. Love the colours - is it rimu do you think? Beeswax is perfect for bringing wood to life again.
ReplyDeleteHi. Thanks! I'm sure sure of the wood... but the beeswax surely did make them look lovely again. x
