On My Worktable - Gingerbread Cookie Kits

February 12, 2014

Are gingerbread men a hit in your household?  They sure are in ours although they are a bit of a special treat.  The heads are normally eaten off first followed by the legs...

Each year I make a large batch of these gingerbread cookie kits containing a set of three little cutters - a mummy, daddy and baby one which are really cute and a laminated copy of our gingerbread recipe.  The first few years I made them from linen but this year I was drawn to the happy colours of my checked blanket stash.

I hand cut and hand stitched the little gingerbread appliqués onto the reusable checked storage bag from my little wool scraps.  For whatever reason they make me really happy!

They have completely sold out, but don't worry I will be making more later in the year and let you know when they are back in stock.  In the meantime you can check out this post for a free copy of our favourite gingerbread cookie recipe.

Do you bake gingerbread men?  Is your first bite the head or the legs?

xx

  1. And no wonder they sold out! I just love all these ideas you come up with :)
I keep trying to think how to describe your creations and ideas.....but nothing sounds right......I keep thinking earthly, mother nature, natural parenting...but whatever the word I'm looking for...I love it!

  3. Oh such a great idea Lisa - they would make great gifts too, they are so gorgeous. I must confess I tend to eat the heads first. Thanks for sharing your recipe. (I hit the wrong button so hope you dont get half a comment as well as this one .... sorry)
