Needlecraft

April 30, 2011

Over the Easter break I attended a wonderful book fair  and discovered some lovely finds.  This is one of my favourites, a very old needlecraft book printed in 1935.

It was the time worn cover which attracted me and I was delighted to find some most interesting chapter headings inside.  Knitted lace, children's millinery, new collars for old dresses, toys and mascots from oddments and glove making among many others.

The language used is so beautiful and I have enjoyed quite a few cups of tea pouring over this tome and enjoying every minute.   I am even inspired to make my own bias binding.  I'll let you know how it goes!

$1 well spent I think.  Can't wait to delve into some of the other books I purchased too!
