________________________________________________________________________________

It started with a simple idea... and after an incredible response last year
from kind and generous crafters around New Zealand (and the world!)
we are excited to launch "The Hottie Project 2014"

With your help, we are hoping we can make winter a little
cosier and warmer for a bunch of lovely children by
creating a BIG stack of lovely warm
hottie covers to keep Christchurch children
cosy this winter.

Here's how YOU can help:

·  Create a hottie cover!  Sew, crochet, knit or embroider - whatever takes your fancy!  The key here is keeping children warm, so your hottie cover doesn't need to be super fancy, just lovely and cuddly and something you would love to keep your children warm.

·  Enter your email address in the box above to receive an email with the pattern, templates, tutorials etc. along with postal details and all you need to join in.

· Post your completed cover to me (address provided in the welcome pack) and KidsCan will provide the bottle and distribute to a child in Chirstchurch!

·  Promote the project on your blog and facebook.  Share the button below.  #hottieproject on instagram and twitter.  Join the linky below (at the very bottom of the page) and share pics of your hottie cover project and inspire others.

The care parcel for Chirstchurch will be finalised at the end of June 2014 so time to get sewing!
Covers received after that date will be still be distributed, but locally to children in West Auckland.

Many thanks to you all for your support.
You guys are awesome.  x

  1. wonderful stuff Lisa!
Could you send me a template please, I'm determined to have a bash. msmaxbennett@gmail.com.
As you know I have 'a bit' of a blanket stash. any particular colour you think would be most suitable?
Also, is there an end date for completion? I work best with a deadline, (and I also need to know it's feasible for me!)

  55. Hi, could you give me an idea of the size of a standard water bottle? I don't have one and the crochet cover I've made from the pattern looks huge! Maybe a note about size for those of us knitting or crocheting would help, or a gauge in the patterns, especially if we want to do our own thing?
