Wool Roses

November 15, 2012

Today I made some wool roses from scraps left over from these coats and other little projects.

My friend Annie showed me how to make flowers, and I came across this tutorial which adds an extra nice touch with the scalloped edge.  I wanted to give the flowers still more depth by using differing shades of wool which unfortunately wasn't possible with this design.

In the end I drew up my own little flower pattern based on the concept of this gorgeous one.  Mine isn't as fancy, but I love my finished roses. Although hand-sewn, they seem to come together quite quickly and are fast becoming an evening addiction whilst relaxing in front of the telly.

I will show you the little item they will be going on soon...
