On My Worktable - Woodland Friends

July 18, 2013

Who knew that raccoons and bears were best of friends?

Using up offcuts of 100% pure NZ wool blankets and stuffed with scrap wool trimmings.  They are quite fiddly but I love that they are all natural with no bits to come off for small people.  I have a few "little birthdays" coming up so I thought these might make nice little gifts. Our little girl has been ferrying them from one couch to another and back again, and putting them to "bed" while I was finishing the scarves.  I'm enjoying having her be a part of what I'm making - and it is always good to get the "royal" seal of approval! xx

  4. I love these...especially how you have used everything down to the last scrap :) and I love the use of the blanket stitched edging for scarves :)) I can just imagine your little girl playing with them, as that's exactly what my lil miss does too! Last week she got quite attached to some booties I was making :)

  5. So sweet. I love seeing the old blankets being used in a different way. I have quite a collection and it's been a while since I made anything with them. You may have just inspired me. Cx
