I have been wanting to plant a cherry tree, however am told it is too warm to fruit well here in the north - I'll have to rely on those wonderful South Island cherries for my yearly fix. I fondly remember buying and eating bags of them from a little roadside cart in Dunedin when I was visiting there a few years ago over the summer.
They are definitely going to be part of dessert this Christmas - still deciding on the final recipe though. I thought I might do some kind of a tray baked meringue with cherries and chocolate drizzling sauce. If you have any great recipes using fresh cherries, I would love to hear from you!
