We picked our first Black Krim tomato yesterday. These are one of my favourite heirloom tomatoes which I have been growing and saving the seeds of for a couple of years now. They taste like a real tomato should, and are quite disease resistant.
We celebrated this whopping specimen with a little "toast" and discovered that one slice of tomato covered the entire slice of toast - so impressive!
Anyway, we have saved the seeds from this very tomato, and I would love to share the joy with a seed giveaway, so if you have a little garden, or know someone who would love some of these seeds, this little giveaway is for you.
Simply leave a comment telling me your favourite way to eat tomatoes, and I will select a lucky winner on Monday.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
There are two ways I like to eat tomatoes. Fresh on toasted vogel (original 5 grain) with avocado and fresg basil. Cooked - we make our own tomato sauce based on a recipe we cut from The Listener over 10 years ago. The original recipe has morphed into our own recipe - we use teh sauce as a base for all sorts of dishes.
ReplyDeleteI love getting bunch of different coloured heirloom tomatoes and slicing them up into a "tomato only" salad with a a touch of olive oil and some fresh basil. Yum!
