Toadstool houses

February 27, 2014

The toadstool houses I started here are finished!  Enjoyably time consuming, these little houses were just what I needed to get my mojo back after a period of rest from my shop.  Quiet meditative stitching, embroidering where my heart took me, the comforting feel of wool in hand...

Not technically difficult, with lots of embroidery I have so enjoyed them.  The toadstool caps were cut from extra wool left over from making the little racoons and bears and they all look so sweet together I just had to share pics of them too.

The more little ideas I come up with for these houses, the more pop into my mind.  A little bicycle leaning on the wall, a ladder to a secret window under the cap (which could open with a little flap), a wheelbarrow in the garden, an apple tree....  oooh a wheelbarrow under an apple tree filled with apples...ooooh a ladder leaning against an apple tree with a wheelbarrow underneath filled with apples.

I must remember to sketch ideas down as often have forgotten them by the time I come to stitch.

xx

These ones have been snapped up already before making it into my shop but I will be making more.  You can let me know if you would like one - thebiglittleshop@gmail.com and we can be in touch later when I make my next batch :)

Linking up with Leonie at Show and Tell.
