Pins & Needles

February 18, 2011

After watching project runway a while ago, I decided that I just had to make some wrist pincushions.  They seemed to make life so easy as you don't have to constantly look for your pin box or cushion - they are always right there on hand (no pun intended).

This first one I made from vintage brown linen with a former life as a skirt, and embellished with a pretty white doily square.  The strap  (made from the waistband of the skirt) fastens with velcro so is adjustable if you wish to wear it further up your arm.

I have made a couple now in different neutral linens for friends and I just love them.  Today I sent one to a lady in the States who makes period costumes who "just had to have one!"

They will be included in my shop update this week.  Maybe I might make a few featuring some of my own original embroidery soon too.

Have a wonderful weekend.
